York, PA - The No. 4 Falcons of Messiah College defeated the No. 21 Spartans of York College 29-12 Friday night and improved to 15-2 overall on the season. The Falcons won six of the ten bouts and scored bonus points in four of their six victories.

"I thought we dominated every match that was wrestled, including the ones we lost", head coach Bryan Brunk said, commenting on tonight's results. "Every match was physical and I thought our guys responded well".
 
No. 1 Lucas Malmberg gave the Falcons an early lead in the dual meet with a dominant 18-1 technical fall over Lake Laughman.
 
At 133 pounds, Hunter Harris came in clutch with a pin in just 1:04 over Evan Zuzulock. Trailing 11-0, York responded by winning the next three matches. Arty Walsh dropped a tight decision to Ryan Flynn by a 4-3 score at 141 pounds.
 
Next, Greg Kabakjian dropped a 10-4 decision to Greg Warner at 149 pounds. At 157 pounds, Adam Kritzer edged Tag Wilber with a 7-5 decision. Messiah held an 11-9 lead when Jeff Hojnacki put Messiah back in the win column with a pin in 4:17 over Frankie Krauss at 165 pounds.
 
No. 7 Ben Swarr kept the Falcons rolling with a 7-3 decision over Mitchell Ramsey at 174 pounds. No. 3 Josh Thomson continued his impressive season with a fall over Ryan Anthony in 4:10 at 184 pounds.
 
At 197 pounds, Kyle Koser capped off the Falcons four match win streak by grinding out a tough 7-5 decision over John Shorter.
 
No. 10 Mike Spencer ended the dual meet with a 9-2 decision over Jason Wright at 285 pounds.
 
Messiah will be back in action tomorrow morning when they host the Messiah Open starting at 10:00 a.m.
