Fred Fulton and senior
Matt Burkhart were recognized for their outstanding performances for the Falcons in their respective sports.
The awards are voted upon weekly by a panel of Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC ) sports information directors.
Fred Fulton – Sophomore – Men's Track & Field
Fulton impressed in three separate events on Saturday, finishing second in the Shot Put, third in the Hammer, and sixth in the Discus among Division I and Division III competition at Millersville. Fulton's Hammer toss (51.58 meters, 170') set a College record by 9'3" (Jeff Siglin, 2002, 160'9"). The throw was good for No. 2 in the MAC and No. 27 in NCAA Division III this season.
Fulton's Shot Put (16.17 meters) is No. 1 in the MAC, with his Discus throw (41.98 meters) also ranked No. 2 in the MAC.
Matt Burkhart – Senior – Golf
Burkhart led the Falcons to three first place finishes in the week, as he finished as individual runner-up at the Alvernia Spring Invitational, Elizabethtown Blue Jays Classic, and Stevenson Spring Invitational.
The Falcons defeated 28 total opponents over their three tournaments, with their best score being a 293 at the Blue Jays Classic on Thursday. That also marked Burkhart's best performance of the week, as he finished with an even score of 72 to tie for second among 88 golfers.
On Tuesday, Burkhart shot a 76 (+4) to finish second of 45 individuals and on Saturday he tied for second (77, +6) among 36 golfers.
