Grantham, PA - If you're experiencing a little déjà vu for this year's NCAA men's soccer Final Four, you're not alone. Three teams have earned a repeat spot in the final weekend, with defending National Champion Messiah College among them.

The Falcons will take on Williams College on Friday at 7:30 p.m. CST (8:30 p.m. EST) in a rematch of the Messiah's win in the 2009 National Semifinal. That game will be preceded by Loras College and Rutgers-Camden University at 5:00 p.m. CST.

Like Messiah and Williams, Loras is back in the Final Four after last year's loss; Rutgers-Camden is making their first appearance in the Final Four.

Below, see a review of each team playing in San Antonio, Texas this weekend.

Messiah College Falcons (No. 4 NSCAA / No. 3 D3Soccer.com)

Location: Grantham, PA
Coach: Brad McCarty (5th season, 110-4-4 at Messiah entering Final Four)
2013 Record: 20-1-1, 9-0 Commonwealth Conference
2013 NCAA First Round: Defeated Centenary College 9-1 (at Salisbury)
2013 NCAA Second Round: Defeated No. 15 Salisbury College 3-0 (at Salisbury)
2013 NCAA Sectional Semifinal: Defeated Kenyon College 2-1 (at Messiah)
2013 NCAA Sectional Final: Defeated No. 14 Franklin & Marshall College 4-1 (at Messiah)
NCAA Tournament Appearance: 25th (70-12-5 all-time including 2013)
NCAA Final Four Appearance: 14th (1986, 1988, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012)

Messiah as a Team in Top-40 National Statistics: The Falcons are 3rd in points per game (9.83), goals per game (3.46), total goals (83), total assists (70), and total points (236); 4th in assists per game (2.92); and 10th in goals against average (0.58).

Messiah Players in Top-40 National Statistics: Joshua Wood is 6th in goals (21), 7th in points (47), 16th in goals per game (0.88), and 18th in points per game (1.96); Jack Thompson is 4th in assists per game (0.81) and total assists (17); Jeremy Payne is 24th in total points (39), 31st in total goals (15), and 33rd in total assists (9); Mike Kovach is 33rd in total assists (9); Keeper Brandon West is 10th in goals against average (0.552).

How the Falcons got here: Messiah's 18 goals scored in the NCAA Tournament may be bloated by their 9-0 win over Centenary, but don't be deceived: the Falcons are playing well. They've earned quality wins over No. 15 Salisbury University and upstart Kenyon College, and then scored four times against No. 14 Franklin & Marshall to account for the only goals the Diplomats surrendered outside of the Centennial Conference.

The Falcons are unbeaten in their last 15 games (14-0-1) and can dominate games on offense, defense, and in the midfield. Their lineup includes seven double-digit point scorers led by Joshua Wood (21g, 5a), Jeremy Payne (15g, 9a), and Jack Thompson (5g, 17a). Mike Kovach (6g, 9a), Danny Brandt (7g, 2a), Sheldon Myer (5g, 5a), and Brian Ramirez (5g, 4a) round out that group. Astonishingly, the last seven goals for Messiah have been scored by seven different players, and 10 different players have already scored in the 2013 NCAA Tournament.

Messiah is attempting more than four times as many shots per game as their opponents (23.3 to 5.23), but the Falcons' lone offensive weakness might be a 0.425 shots on goal percentage. Still, teams have struggled to play straight up with the Falcons as they present a speed of play that most teams cannot match.

The Falcons' defensive unit is led by Matt Kyne, Carter Robbins, Drew Frey, and Josh Kremers—a group with 93 of a possible 96 starts between them. Brandon West is also a standout in the goal, and carries a 0.55 goals against average (GAA) and a .760 save percentage across 24 starts.

Messiah's only loss this year came 1-0 at York College, and their only tie was 0-0 to Lycoming in the Commonwealth Championship.

Williams College Ephs
williams college

Location: Williamstown, MA
Coach: Mike Russo (35th season, 430-109-58 at Williams entering Final Four)
2013 Record: 15-6, 6-4 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC)
2013 NCAA First Round: Defeated Elms College 4-0
2013 NCAA Second Round: Defeated Western New England 4-1
2013 NCAA Sectional Semifinal: Defeated Brandeis College 2-0
2013 NCAA Sectional Final: Defeated Amherst College 1-0
NCAA Tournament Appearance: 18th (36-14-9 all-time including 2013)
NCAA Final Four Appearance: 6th (1993, 1995, 1998, 2009, 2012)

How the Ephs got here: Williams has a storied program steeped in NCAA excellence, but they still might be the most surprising participant in the Final Four—something they might even admit after they pulled off an upset of Amherst College in the Sectional Final for the second-straight season. In 2012, it was a PK decision that pushed the Ephs past Amherst; this year they defeated the Lord Jeffs 1-0. In both 2012 and 2013, Williams' decisions over Amherst came after already having lost twice to their NESCAC rival.

Nevertheless, Williams is playing their best soccer at the right time. They've scored 11 goals in the NCAA Tournament thus far, their most goals over a four-game stretch since 2010. Five different players have totaled double-digit points for the Ephs, with Matt Muralles (7g, 3a) and Mohammad Rashid (5g, 5a) leading the way. Matt Kastner (5g, 3a) and Jonathan Westling (5g, 1a) follow while Chris Conder (2g, 6a) rounds out the group after having scored the game-winner in each of their last two wins.

Despite the balance, Williams has scored just 35 goals this season and put just .372 percent of their shots on goal. They also outshoot opponents by less than two shots per game (17.9 to 16.0).

Still, the Ephs have enough firepower—as they've shown— to win in the NCAAs and they also have a defense to challenge the other side. Keeper Peter Morrell has started all 21 games this season and owns a 0.81 GAA with a .823 save percentage. The senior appeared in just six games last season, but all of them came in the postseason.

Williams does have six losses this season, only one of which (3-2 at RPI in overtime) came against a non-conference opponent.

Loras College Duhawks (No. 6 NSCAA / No. 6 D3Soccer.com)
loras college

Location: Dubuque, IA
Coach: Dan Rothert (16th season, 255-85-22 all-time with Loras' men entering Final Four)
2013 Record: 19-1-3, 6-1 Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC)
2013 NCAA First Round: Bye
2013 NCAA Second Round: Advanced past Luther College in PKs (5-3) after 1-1 draw
2013 NCAA Sectional Semifinal: Defeated Westminster College 2-0
2013 NCAA Sectional Final: Defeated No. 7 Trinity University 2-1
NCAA Tournament Appearance: 9th (19-7-3 all-time including 2013)
NCAA Final Four Appearance: 4th (2007, 2008, 2012)

Loras as a Team in Top-40 National Statistics: The Duhawks are 7th in goals against average (0.51) and 30th in save percentage (0.846).

Loras Players in Top-40 National Statistics: Keeper Dylan Milkent is 6th in goals against average (0.496) and 24th in save percentage (0.853).

How the Duhawks got here: Messiah fans are sure to remember Loras from last year's National Semifinal match-up—a game that fits nicely into Messiah lore after Mike Kovach sent through an overtime winner for the game's only goal (link includes radio call). Loras is back this year after winning the IIAC Championship, and they return four of their top five scorers from the 2012 squad.

Tom Fluegel has almost doubled his point total from last year (11) to lead the Duhawks this year in goals (8) and points (20). Tim van den Bergh (6g, 3a), Erik Berkowitz (6g, 2a; 4 GW), Richard Lenke, (5g, 3a, 4 GW), Johnny Rummelhart (4g, 4a), and Kevin Cavers (2g, 7a) round out the six double-digit scorers for Loras. Cavers, as many Falcons fans will remember, was an All-American and the Duhawks' leading scorer last season.

Though they've scored just 53 goals in 2013, Loras is outshooting opponents 22.0 to 9.2 and holding them to a meager .355 shot on goal percentage. Keeper Dylan Milkent is a big reason for their defensive prowess, as he boasts a 0.47 GAA and .857 save percentage. The Duhawks, too, are regarded for their imposing size and athleticism—two traits on display in last year's exhausting, end-to-end National Semifinal match against the Falcons.

Loras' only loss this season came to conference rival Wartburg—a 2-1 loss that was avenged by the Duhawks in the IIAC Championship. They've also been tied three times: 1-1 to the University of Wisconsin-Superior; 0-0 to then-No. 14 Wisconsin-Oshkosh; and 1-1 to Luther in the NCAA Second Round.

Snapshot History of Messiah and Loras
Messiah's Record: 2-0 (both games in National Semifinal)
Messiah's Goals For-Against: 3-0
Last Game Played: Nov. 30, 2012 - National Semifinal (Messiah 1-0 in overtime)
Current Streak: Messiah, two wins

Rutgers-Camden University Scarlet Raptors (No. 3 NSCAA / No. 2 D3Soccer.com)
rutgers camden

Location: Camden, NJ
Coach: Tim Oswald (8th season, 121-38-22 all-time entering Final Four)
2013 Record: 22-0-2, 7-0-2 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC)
2013 NCAA First Round: Bye
2013 NCAA Second Round: Defeated Lycoming College 4-0
2013 NCAA Sectional Semifinal: Defeated York College 3-1
2013 NCAA Sectional Final: Defeated Montclair State University 2-1
NCAA Tournament Appearance: 4th (7-2-1 all-time including 2013)
NCAA Final Four Appearance: 1st

Rutgers as a Team in Top-40 National Statistics: The Scarlet Raptors are 5th in save percentage (0.878), 6th in total goals (66), 8th in total points (180), 14th in total assists (48), 18th in both goals per game (2.75) and goals against average (0.65), 19th in points per game (7.50), and 31st in assists per game (2.00).

Rutgers Players in Top-40 National Statistics: Mike Ryan is 6th in total goals (21), 8th in total points (46), 16th in goals per game (0.88), and 24th in points per game (1.92); Mitch Grotti is 18th in total assists (10); Keeper Mike Randall is 12th in save percentage (0.877), 21st in goals against average (0.654), and 35th in total saves (114).

How the Scarlet Raptors got here: Rutgers enters their first-ever Final Four in loud fashion. They're the only undefeated team remaining in Division III and currently holds the best record in program history. They entered the NCAAs after winning their third-straight NJAC title and, impressively, own two different double-digit win streaks. Their current win streak has reached 10 games.

The Raptors' play with both an imposing offense and defense. Mike Ryan leads the 66-goal output with 21 goals and four assists. His nine game-winners also lead the team. Mitch Grotti (7g, 10a), Connor Huff (8g, 5a), Keegan Balle (7g, 4a), Stevan Austino (5g, 4a), and Joe Auleta (2g, 6a) are also double-digit point scorers. With all that offense, it's no surprise that Rutgers takes over 20 shots per game and puts .434 percent of them on frame.

Rutgers' defense is one of the best in the nation and keeper Mike Randall has played as one of the top netminders in all of the NCAA. He carries a 0.65 GAA and a .877 save percentage across 24 starts (12 shutouts).

The team's only ties have come to TCNJ (1-1) and then-No. 9 Montclair State (0-0).
