NFHCA All-Region Teams  |  Messiah's All-Time All-Region Honors

Parker Ford, PA – Messiah College field hockey players Gina Kellett, Moriah Pfautz, and Becky Ely were honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) and Longstreth Field Hockey on Monday as each were named to the Division III All-Region Team. Kellett and Pfautz were named to the First Team.

The Falcons' awards come within the South Atlantic Region, one of six regions identified by the NFHCA for field hockey awards.

Kellett earns the All-Region honor for the third-straight season, though it is her first being named First Team. The senior midfielder scored four goals and collected five assists this year, but her reputation has been built on her stellar midfield and defensive work. The former All-American helped Messiah to a 1.38 goals against average (GAA), good for 29th in the nation.

Earlier this month Kellett also earned the Commonwealth Conference's Defensive Player of the Year award—her fourth-straight season being named All-Conference.

Pfautz—the Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Year—earns the First Team honor in her first season with the Falcons. She led Messiah on offense with 24 goals and 51 points, with her point total being the highest for a first-year Falcon since Danae (Chambers) Hollenbach scored 63 points in 2001. Her 1.28 goals per game average was eighth in the nation and her 2.72 points per game was t-17th. Both marks were tops among first-year players.

The crafty and aggressive forward put through five game-winners, perhaps none more impressive than the goal that clinched Messiah's seventh-straight Commonwealth Championship.

For Ely, the All-Region honor is the first of her career and comes after she's been an All-Commonwealth defender for two-straight seasons. Along with keeper Molly Gebrosky, Kellet, and others, Ely's defensive work contributed to Messiah's conference-best 3.50 GAA while the Falcons allowed just 10.2 shots per game to their opponents.

The Falcons qualified for their 13th-straight NCAA Championships Tournament this season before falling 2-1 to Catholic University. Messiah finished with a 15-6 record.
