Grantham, PA – While the sting from a
loss in the Second Round of the NCAA Championships may not be entirely gone, there is at least one more game left for two of the Falcons' women's lacrosse seniors.
Rachel Dirksen and
Rachel Coyle were selected this week to participate in the 2012 IWLCA/Under Armour North-South Senior All-Star Game, set to take place on Saturday, June 16.
The annual North-South game will be held at the United Sports Training Center in Downington, Pa. The NCAA Division III game will take place at 2:00 p.m., following the Division I (noon) and Division II (1:00 p.m.) contests.
“I am thrilled for them to receive this honor,” Messiah head coach heather Greer said. “It's a fun game in which to play and it's really competitive, with the best players in the nation participating.
“It's also an honor to be recognized among your peers as one of the best players in the game. The North-South committee does a great job of making it a special weekend for the student-athletes.”
In 2011, the “South” team defeated the “North” team by a wide margin (15-4), a recollection enjoyed by Greer as she coached the South team last year.

Andrea Thomas competed in 2011 as representatives from Messiah College.
