Gettysburg, PA - Messiah College junior Matt Burkhart took first place with an even-par 72 at The Bridges Golf Club on Wednesday, leading the Falcons to a fourth place finish.

The Falcons shot a combined 331 (+43), finishing behind two other colleges-- Gettysburg "A" finishes first and Gettysburg "B" finished third with Dickinson College finishing second.

For Burkhart, the performance was the best of his spring; he had shot a 73 at Lebanon Valley and a 74 at York earlier this spring. It was the second straight spring that Burkhart took first place in the Gettysburg Invitational.

Messiah sophomore Brian Loesser finished second on the Falcons' squad, shooting an individual-best 81.

The Falcons next play at the Dauphin Highland Country Club on Friday and Saturday, April 13-14, at the Penn State-Harrisburg Invitational.
