Annville, PA - Messiah College senior Rachel Scheibeler, senior Natalie Ziegler, and sophomore Brian Ramirez were named Commonwealth Players of the Week on Monday, recognition for their Most Valuable Player awards from the weekend's conference championship tournaments.

Scheibeler was named the MVP for women's soccer after collecting seven points (three goals, one assist) in the Commonwealth Championship Semifinal and Final. On Friday, Scheibeler scored twice as Messiah took a 4-0 decision over Lebanon Valley, and followed that up with a goal and an assist in Sunday's title game-- a 7-0 win over Stevenson University.

Ziegler was named the MVP for field hockey after an unforgettable weekend for Messiah. On Friday, Ziegler scored the game-winning goal with no time left on the clock in the Falcons' 3-2 win over Arcadia, and then collected two goals and an assist in Sunday's 4-1 championship victory over Elizabethtown.

Ramirez was named the MVP for men's soccer after netting the game-winner in Messiah's 1-0 win over Lebanon Valley on Sunday. Ramirez's goal stood up even has the last minute of the game saw three time stoppages and a shot off the crossbar for each team-- the last of which was by LVC with just seconds remaining.

For each of the three programs-- field hockey, and men's and women's soccer-- the Sunday victories were their sixth-straight Commonwealth Championship.
