Carlisle, PA - Senior outside hitter Lauren Rees became Messiah's all-time leader in career kills on Thursday, as the Messiah College Falcons (16-7, 5-1) improved their current winning streak to six straight as they defeated the Dickinson College Red Devils (4-12) 3-1.

Rees collected 16 kills on the night, pushing her to a career total of 1,290 kills. She had entered the evening trailing Prisca Chase '02 by nine kills-- 1,274 to 1,283.

The Falcons took control of the match early by squeaking out a tight 25-23 win in the first set. Messiah would not relinquish their early momentum and took the second set 25-16.

Dickinson would not go away quietly and would play a hard fought third set to stay alive defeating the Falcons 26-24.

The fourth set would follow suit and be another tight contest. However, the Falcons would prove to be too much for the Red Devils taking the decisive set 25-21.

Rees' record breaking evening was accompanied by a solid team effort by Messiah. Freshmen right side hitter Adi Fulmer led all hitters with 17 kills. Senior middle hitter Lindsay King contributed 11 kills of her own in while junior setter Jessica Geib got in on the action knocking 7 kills of her own with zero hitting errors in the win.

Dickinson's Jenn Morrissey dished out 33 assists and Avery Zuvic knocked ten kills in the loss.

The Falcons' six-game winning streak will be put to the test this weekend in an away tri match when they take on Kenyon College and Allegheny College.
